Lou Resweber is, first and foremost, a family man. Active in his church and his community, Lou recently returned to live on the same family farm where he was born and raised, and which has been in his family for generations.
A native of South Louisiana, Lou and his wife, Michelle, have raised three adult children here, each of whom have gone on to become very active in their own communities.
A proud alumnus of Teurlings High School, and a cum laude graduate of the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Lou began his business career here, prior to embarking on a 35-year professional odyssey that took him all across the country.
But now, at this stage in his career, Lou has decided to “give something back” to the local communities that first nurtured him.
Security Industry Leader
Prior to starting LJR Security Systems, Lou was the Founder, President & CEO of Pelican Security Network.
Starting Pelican “from scratch” – with small offices in Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans – Lou eventually grew Pelican to become the 36th largest provider of electronic security services in the entire United States, a multi-million-dollar enterprise serving tens of thousands of customers and ranked in the Top 1% of an industry with more than 14,000 licensed provider nationwide.
In addition, Lou established a specialty finance company which also helped small, independent (‘mom-and-pop”) alarm dealers to remain in business; which led him to eventually serve as President of Argus Security in Lafayette; Advanced Security Protection in Baton Rouge; Alarm & Security in New Orleans; Bayou Security in Shreveport; Premier Fire & Security in Naples, FL; and CoSecurity Systems in Dallas, TX.
During this time, Lou was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association (LLSSA) and Texas Alarm Dealers Association, and served on a number of other industry, community and philanthropic organizations.
Chairman, President & CEO
In addition to his role with LJR Security, Lou also currently serves as Chairman & President of Gulf West Security Network, Inc; as CEO of Gulf Star Medical Technologies, Inc.; and as COO of ESP PetroChemicals, Inc.
Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of Westmark Group Holdings (NASDAQ: WGHI), a nationwide provider of financial services; as President & CEO of Network Acquisition (NASDAQ: NTWK), a telecommunications concern which grew from $4 million to $120 million in revenues through a series of 17 successful mergers and acquisitions; and as Senior Vice President of United Companies Financial (NYSE: UC), where he helped to make UC the top growth stock in any industry at that time.
Lou has also previously served as Director of Communications for Celeron Oil & Gas (NYSE: CEL); as Vice President of Entex Gas (NYSE: ETX); as Vice President of Arkla Exploration (NYSE: ARK); and as a Senior Communications Counsel to Thomas F. McLarty (who later became President Bill Clinton’s first Chief-of-Staff); while at the same time serving clients such as Exxon / Mobil and Cabot Oil & Gas in his role as Vice President, Business Development for Hill & Knowlton International under Craig L. Fuller (President George H.W. Bush’s former Chief-of-Staff).
